John Boze
John L. Boze is an attorney in Sacramento practicing construction, real estate, business and corporate law. From 2003 through 2009, Mr. Boze served as in-house counsel for a large residential framing contractor, lumber yard and truss manufacturer as well as a regional homebuilder. As a result, our firm offers both an extensive knowledge of the law coupled with practical experience to provide insight and common sense solutions to our clients.

Mr. Boze has been involved in many construction disputes and was one of the chief negotiators in the California Legislature of AB 758 in 2005 which barred so called Type I indemnities in residential construction contracts and AB 2738 in 2008 which further defined the contractual duty to defend an owner or GC and required certain disclosures and limitations on wrap insurance policies. In 2009, Mr. Boze was also one of the chief negotiators of SB 189, the Law Revision Commission’s revision of the California Mechanic’s Lien law effective July 1, 2012. He currently serves as the state governmental affairs committee chair for the Professional Association of Specialty Contractors (CALPASC).
